You need Christian childrens books in your home library

One of my other odd jobs is actually tutoring small children (usually 3rd or 4th graders) in reading and math. Most of them are underprivileged kids and have a hard time with the English language, so reading tutoring is a majority of what I do. Anyway, one of the things we have to do together is, obviously, read - so I let them choose a book of their preference every time and we read through it.

In my many times of doing this, I have realized so many things about children's literature. Not only is it meaningful even to an adult (many of the simple lessons we learn early in childhood still guide us through life) - it is a crucial point of learning that shapes their value system in later years. That's why, if you're Christian, it's good to have a few Christian childrens books handy for that sensitive period of growth. Christian childrens books not only reinforce important points, they bring up your kid in a safe set of values that are strong and morally guided for the future.
