It is interesting that just recently the producers of "American Idol," decided to open their show to "Shouts To The Lord." I have never seen "American Idol" simply because it is idolatry; after all, that is what the name says. I am a singer, and a few years ago, I participated in the Jimmy Fowler singing competition in Branson Missouri. I competed against about 300 participants in a four month span when I participated, and our songs were broadcast over the internet to over 850 million people world wide. This is more than all of the "American Idol" winners combined. What is interesting is that I won. What does this mean? that I am more competition for any one of the American Idol winners.

However, I have never watched American Idol, and I don't intend to. Is it really a good thing that the producers of this show are starting to "Shout to the Lord, and do you think that God is really honored by this? How can be expect God to be honored by entertainment that is stepped in idolatry. I have found that singers are a dime a dozen, and for every American Idol winner; I can think of a dozen men and women that could literally destroy these kids confidence to the point that they will never want to sing again.

Is God honored by our foolishness? I don't think so. The television is no longer used as a tool for information; it is now used as a god in itself. I find it very difficult to actually do what God wants me to do because of the boob tube. Even In the military, the chow hall is set up  to look just like a sports bar. There is a television in each corner of the room at ceiling level; and When I was in Germany,  I would sit and watch the news while I was eating my breakfast. When I was at Fort McCoy Wisconsin; I counted a dozen television in the NCO club. We don't talk or share with one another any more, we fantasize by watching the boob tube. This is the one thing that I don't want to be bound, or use the television as an idol. I believe that we are so involved with this entertainment that we have neglected more important issues, a relationship with God and Jesus Christ. The television can not be our god, but that is what we have made it to be.
